Trump Warns Iran Attacks Will Intensify Next Week
US President Donald Trump has affirmed that American forces will attack targets in Iran “very hard”. This signals an intensification of US and Israeli military operations against Iran as the conflict enters its third week.
“We will attack them (Iran) very hard over the next week,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News Radio, as reported by AFP on Saturday (14 March 2026).
Trump also expressed confidence that Iran’s leadership could ultimately be overthrown by its own people. However, he also stated that this may not happen immediately.
“I really think that’s a major hurdle that people without weapons have to overcome. I think it’s a very big hurdle… It will happen, but maybe not right away,” he said in an interview on Friday (13 March).
This latest statement was made by Trump after previously signalling various indications about progress in the war against Iran.
Trump had previously boasted that “we are winning” against Iran, and had mentioned that the war could end “very soon”.
In recent days, Trump has continued to make statements indicating his determination to pursue the conflict.
On Friday (13 March), Trump also threatened Iran with further attacks following the country’s new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, signalling resistance and indicating there would be no relaxation of the war, which has caused disruptions to global energy flows and markets.
“We have unmatched military power, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time. See what happens to these crazy b*****ds,” said the US President, using profanity in reference to Iran’s leadership.
The US and Israel launched a large-scale combined offensive against Iran beginning 28 February. Teheran responded with waves of missile and drone attacks against targets in Israel and Gulf nations hosting US military assets, causing the conflict to widen considerably.
