Trump: War with Iran Has No Time Limit

Washington (ANTARA) — United States President Donald Trump said he did not have a timetable for how long the war with Iran would last, according to an interview with Time published on Thursday (5 March). ‘I do not have a timetable for anything,’ Trump said during a telephone interview with Time on Wednesday (4 March). ‘I want to get it finished.’ Earlier this week, Trump said he anticipated the US–Israel strike against Iran would last four to five weeks. The operation has been ongoing since 28 February. Trump also outlined several aims of the conflict, including preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons or ballistic missiles, and placing ‘someone rational and sane’ to lead Iran, the report said. The US House of Representatives, controlled by the Republican Party, on Thursday failed to pass a War Powers resolution aimed at constraining Trump’s strikes against Iran, a day after a similar move failed to pass in the Senate.
