Trump Wants Conflict with Iran to End Before Departing for China
Moscow (ANTARA) - United States President Donald Trump believes the conflict with Iran is now in its final stage and hopes it will end in the coming weeks. According to a Wall Street Journal report citing sources on Wednesday (25/3), Trump conveyed this to his advisors and urged them to adhere to the timeline announced to the public, namely four to six weeks. On that Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump would visit Beijing on 14-15 May for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. White House representatives have scheduled the meeting between Trump and Jinping in Beijing in mid-May, hoping the conflict with Iran can be resolved before that summit begins, according to the report. On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched attacks on targets in Iran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
