Trump: US Will Seize Iran's Uranium by Force if Deal Fails

Hamilton (ANTARA) - President Donald Trump warned that the United States would forcibly take Iran’s “nuclear dust”—referring to its stockpile of enriched uranium—if no agreement is reached, while emphasising that there would be no tolls in the Strait of Hormuz. “We will go into Iran, and we will take it together, then bring it back to the US,” Trump told reporters on Friday (17/4) en route back to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. “If we don’t do that, we will get it in another form, a much less friendly form,” he added. When asked whether he would extend the ceasefire or resume attacks if no deal is reached on Wednesday—when the two-week ceasefire mediated by Pakistan ends—Trump left open the possibility of restarting strikes. “Maybe I won’t extend it, but the blockade will remain. But maybe I won’t extend it, so you have the blockade, and unfortunately, we have to start dropping bombs again,” he said. In response to Iran’s claim that differences still exist, Trump said: “They have to say something different because they have a side they have to serve. I’m just saying it as it is.” Regarding the possibility of tolls in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump stated: “No. Not possible.” “The restriction is that you cannot impose tolls. There will be no tolls,” he added.
