Washington, D.C. (ANTARA) — Donald Trump’s advisers were reportedly trying to persuade the U.S. president to declare victory over Iran immediately. According to CNN, Trump hoped that early progress in military operations against Iran could bolster public support. However, his aides urged him to accelerate the operations and declare victory as soon as possible. His advisers were concerned that a prolonged military action against Iran could pose political risks for the U.S. leader. The war even sparked splits within the MAGA movement led by Trump, the report said. On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a series of strikes against several targets in Iran, including in Tehran, with reports of damage and civilian casualties. Iranian state television confirmed that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the attack. Iran then launched retaliatory missile strikes into Israeli territory and at U.S. military facilities in the Middle East.
