Trump Turns 80, Israeli President Thanks Him for Help in War Against Iran

Israeli President Isaac Herzog wished United States President Donald Trump a happy 80th birthday today. Herzog thanked Trump for his support to Israel during the war with Iran.

“The people of Israel thank you for your leadership in confronting the empire of evil, Iran, and for your unwavering commitment to Israel’s security,” Herzog said to Trump in a post on X, as reported by Aljazeera on Sunday (14/6/2026).

He said Trump’s extraordinary journey to the White House represents the breadth of the American dream. Herzog stated that Israel will never forget Trump’s role in securing the release of Israeli hostages.

“We will never forget your tireless efforts in securing the release of our beloved hostages,” he said.

He also prayed for Trump to lead peace in the world and the Middle East region. He further expressed hope for continued strengthening of cooperation with the US.

“May you lead the Middle East and the world towards peace and security and continue to strengthen the unique US-Israel partnership,” he said.

Previously, US President Donald Trump was set to turn 80 on 14 June. Trump planned an unusual celebration by hosting a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) match on the White House grounds.

A massive arena called “The Claw”, as reported by AFP on Friday (12/6/2026), has been built on the South Lawn of the White House, which will be the location for a cage fight tournament on Sunday (14/6) featuring 14 UFC contestants.

Critics have condemned the event, named “UFC Freedom 250”, which carries a prize of US$69 million and has never been held before, as an insensitive act at a time when the war against Iran has triggered a surge in the cost of living for US civilians.
