Trump to Discuss Joint Toll Plan for Strait of Hormuz with Iran
Washington (ANTARA) - The idea of US President Donald Trump regarding a joint toll plan for the Strait of Hormuz will be discussed with Iran, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday (8/4). Previously, ABC News reported that Trump is considering a joint venture cooperation with Iran to impose toll tariffs on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. “That is an idea that the president has put forward, as you know, and it will continue to be discussed over the next two weeks,” Leavitt said in a press conference when asked about the proposal. On Tuesday night (7/4), Trump stated that he had agreed to a bilateral ceasefire for two weeks with Iran. Trump also assured that Iran has agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz.
