Trump Threatens to Target Iranian Nuclear Power Plants in Next Phase of US Strikes

Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated again after US President Donald Trump stated that the next phase of military operations would target Iranian nuclear facilities if Tehran refuses to return to the negotiating table. Trump warned that strategic infrastructure, including nuclear power plants and bridges, would become targets in the final stage of military operations if Iran does not agree to continue talks with Washington. The Republican president stressed that the United States would maintain military pressure on Iran until he deems the objectives have been achieved. “Very tough on Iran until he decides it’s enough,” he was quoted as saying.

Trump also revealed that the United States remains in communication with Iran, noting that both sides held discussions on Tuesday and again urged Tehran to reach an agreement to end the conflict. In response to the ultimatum, Iran immediately heightened its military readiness by activating air defence systems around the city of Bushehr, the site of one of the country’s main nuclear power plants. Iranian news agency Mehr reported that all air defence systems in the area surrounding the Bushehr nuclear facility in southern Iran have been operated in anticipation of possible air strikes.

Meanwhile, US military strikes continued on Tuesday, triggering explosions in the Hormozgan and Sirik regions of southern Iran. State media also reported that several projectiles struck areas near the city of Hajiabad in Hormozgan Province. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said one of the American strikes hit a border guard post in Hormozgan, killing three members of the family of Javad Hasanzadeh, a hardworking forest ranger. The exchange of threats and military responses marks a renewed spike in tensions between the two nations, raising international concerns over the risk of a wider conflict in the Middle East.
