Istanbul (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump stated that all US ships, aircraft, and military personnel, along with additional ammunition and weaponry, will “remain in and around Iran until a real agreement that has been reached is fully complied with.”

“If for any reason that does not happen, which is highly unlikely, then ‘shooting will begin’ on a scale larger, better, and stronger than anything ever seen before,” he said.

He added that the agreement regarding “no nuclear weapons” has actually been reached “a long time ago,” despite “false rhetoric stating otherwise.”

“No nuclear weapons and the Strait of Hormuz will be open and safe,” he said.

“For now, our great military is preparing and resting, and awaiting the next step,” Trump added.

Iran and the US announced a two-week ceasefire on Tuesday (7/4) aimed at paving the way for a final agreement to end the US and Israeli invasion of Iran since 28 February, which has caused many deaths and injuries.

The announcement was made less than two hours before the expiry of the deadline repeatedly extended by Trump for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and accept the agreement or face “the destruction of the entire civilisation.”
