Trump Threatens to Launch 1,000 Missiles if Iran Attempts Assassination

United States President Donald Trump threatened on Friday to launch thousands of missiles at Iran if the country attempts to assassinate him. “A total of 1,000 missiles are ready and aimed at Iran, with thousands more to follow shortly, should the Iranian government carry out its threat, which has been made around the world, to kill or attempt to kill the sitting President of the United States, in this case, ME!” he wrote on Truth Social. Trump added that “orders have been given” and claimed the US military is “ready, willing, and able” for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension, “to completely obliterate and destroy the entire territory of Iran.” Previously, Trump stated that the ceasefire with Iran had “ended”, but Washington agreed to continue negotiations requested by Tehran. Recently, Israel shared intelligence with the US indicating that Iran had drawn up a new plan to kill Trump, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. In June, Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) mediated by Pakistan aimed at ending the war that began in late February and achieving a long-term peace agreement. The MoU calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, the lifting of the US naval blockade against Iran, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. However, both sides launched fresh attacks against each other related to commercial shipping traffic in the strait this week. The United States struck several targets in Iran, which Tehran retaliated against by attacking US assets in various parts of the region.
