Trump Threatens to Launch 1,000 Missiles if Iran Attempts Assassination

HAMILTON — US President Donald Trump on Friday (10 July) threatened to launch thousands of missiles at Iran if the country attempts to kill him.

“There are 1,000 missiles already ready and aimed at Iran, with thousands more to follow shortly, should the Iranian government carry out its threat, made around the world, to assassinate or attempt to assassinate the sitting President of the United States, in this case ME!” he wrote on Truth Social.

Trump added that “the orders have been given” and claimed the US military was “ready, willing and able” for a period of one year, with the possibility of an extension, “to totally obliterate and destroy the entire territory of Iran.”

Earlier, Trump stated that the ceasefire with Iran had “ended”, but Washington agreed to continue negotiations requested by Tehran.

Recently, Israel shared intelligence with the United States indicating that Iran had drawn up new plans to kill Trump, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.

In June, Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) mediated by Pakistan, aimed at ending the war that began in late February and achieving a long-term peace agreement.

The MoU called for an immediate halt to fighting across all conflict zones, the lifting of the US naval blockade on Iran, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

However, the two sides resumed attacks against each other this week over commercial shipping traffic in the strait. The United States struck a number of targets in Iran, which Tehran responded to by attacking American assets in various parts of the region.
