Trump Threatens to Intensify Attacks if Hormuz Strait Blocked, Iranian Foreign Minister Responds Casually
The United States has threatened to attack Iran twenty times more intensely than current operations should Tehran block oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald Trump stated that the United States would take such action if the Iranian government attempts to halt petroleum supplies in the strategic waterway.
“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, they will be attacked by the United States twenty times harder than what they have faced so far,” Trump said via Truth Social on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
He stated that the United States would also target easily destructible infrastructure such that “it will be impossible for Iran to rebuild its nation” as “death, fire, and wrath will reign upon them”.
“But I hope, and pray, that this does not happen!” the US President added.
Trump characterised this measure as a “gift” from the United States to China and all nations heavily dependent on unimpeded shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. “I hope this action will receive much appreciation,” he said.
