US President Donald Trump has responded to a recent intelligence report from the Israeli government regarding an Iranian plan to assassinate him. Trump immediately issued a specific order to the US military. Citing a CNN International report, two sources familiar with the matter revealed that US intelligence had actually picked up indications of assassination threats against Trump in recent weeks. However, the latest information from Israel was considered crucial as it contained a much more specific warning about a new assassination plot being planned by Tehran. Although the details of the plan are not yet fully clear and have not been independently verified by the US military, the threat received a strong response from the president. The White House declined to comment further and directly referred to Trump’s latest statement asserting that he now tops Iran’s assassination target list. “They want to finish off the US leader—that’s me,” Trump told reporters. “I’m on whatever list.
