Trump Threatens to Bombard Iran's Power Plants and Bridges
US President Donald Trump has warned that attacks on Iran will continue and intensify in the coming days. Trump even threatened to target power plants and bridges in Iran unless the country agrees to return to the negotiating table.
“We’ve hit them very, very hard. We’ve hit everything they have along the coast, along the water’s edge… These attacks will continue until I say enough,” Trump said in an interview with US media Fox News, as reported by Anadolu Agency on Wednesday (15/7/2026).
When asked if he was considering striking Iran’s infrastructure and energy sector targets, Trump replied: “I would put energy targets last, but ultimately we will hit those energy targets.”
“We’re going to hit them very hard tonight. Then we’re going to hit them very hard tomorrow night. We’re going to hit them very hard the following night,” he said.
“Then next week, things are going to get very bad for them, because next week it’s the power plants’ turn to be targeted. Next week it’s the bridges’ turn. We’re going to knock out all their power plants. We’re going to destroy all their bridges, unless they are willing to sit at the negotiating table,” Trump stressed.
Trump said that Iran has “no choice” but to reach a deal. He also revealed that US representatives had communicated with Iranian officials, even an hour before the Fox News interview took place on Tuesday (14/7).
“They want to make a deal… You’d better make a deal. Otherwise, there will be nothing left of your side,” he said.
Furthermore, Trump said the US wants to keep the Strait of Hormuz open. The Strait of Hormuz has been a major point of contention between Washington and Tehran recently, triggering renewed hostilities between the two countries.
“I was going to charge a fee, but they (the Gulf states) prefer to spend a lot of money in the United States – which is honestly better, because I don’t like the idea of imposing fees. That route must remain free of charge, because otherwise, others will do the same thing,” the US President said.
“The only way to negotiate with them is through strength, and the only strength is military strength – and that’s what we’ve done. Two days ago, we had a deal, but then they backed out at the last minute,” Trump said, referring to Iran.
Trump’s statement came after US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday (14/7) that its forces had launched fresh strikes against Iranian targets to “continue to degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”
