Trump Threatens to Annihilate Iran with Thousands of Missiles Over Assassination Plot
US President Donald Trump issued a stern threat against Iran on Friday (10/7), stating that the American military stands ready to launch thousands of missiles should the country attempt to assassinate him.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump asserted that the United States has mobilised combat forces on a massive scale. He claimed that 1,000 missiles have been aimed at Iran, with thousands more ready to follow should the threat against his life be carried out.
“1,000 missiles are ready and aimed at Iran, with thousands more to follow, should the Iranian government carry out its threat, which has been conveyed around the world, to kill or attempt to kill the sitting President of the United States, in this case ME!” Trump wrote.
Trump added that operational orders have already been issued. He claimed the US military is currently in a position of “ready, willing and able” to carry out the mission for a period of one year, with an option to extend.
He went on to warn that the strikes would be aimed at completely devastating and destroying the entire territory of Iran if Tehran is proven to have made an attempt on his life.
The open threat follows an intelligence report from Israel shared with Washington. According to The Wall Street Journal, Israeli intelligence indicated a new plot by Iran to target Trump.
The development has soured relations between the two countries, which had previously shown signs of de-escalation. In June, through Pakistani mediation, Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to end the conflict that erupted in late February.
Despite the peace agreement, Trump declared that the ceasefire status with Iran has now “ended”. He noted, however, that Washington still remains open to resuming negotiations at Tehran’s request.
Tensions on the ground reignited this week after both sides engaged in mutual attacks related to commercial shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. The United States reportedly struck a number of targets within Iranian territory, prompting Tehran to retaliate by attacking US military assets across various parts of the Middle East.
