Trump Threatens Hormuz Blockade, Iranian Revolutionary Guard: Enemies Will Face a Death Vortex
Tehran—Iran’s Revolutionary Guard on Sunday (12 April 2026) warned that Iran’s enemies would face a death vortex in the Strait of Hormuz, in response to US President Donald Trump’s announcement that Washington would impose a blockade on the strait.
The strait has effectively been closed by Tehran since the start of the US-Israel war against Iran.
The Navy of the Revolutionary Guard Corps stated in a post on the X platform that enemies would be trapped in a death vortex in the Strait of Hormuz if they took the wrong step.
They added that all shipping traffic… is under the full control of Iran’s Armed Forces.
In this context, the Fars News Agency, which is close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, quoted by Al Jazeera on Monday (14 April 2026), said that Trump had ‘joined’ Iran’s team.
The Corps added that with Trump’s threat to impose a military blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, he has in fact dashed the last hopes of analysts for a decline in oil prices, according to its description.
The agency mentioned that after the announcement of a two-week ceasefire and Iran’s conditional agreement to reopen the strait, Brent oil prices fell by around 11 percent to $97.
