Trump: Talks with Putin, Zelenskyy "Very Good"
Washington (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump stated he has held “very good” talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. “I had very good talks with President Zelenskyy and President Putin,” Trump told reporters when asked about the conflict in Ukraine on Wednesday (17/6). He added that the United States wants the conflict to end soon. During a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trump declined to say which party bore more responsibility for the conflict in Ukraine. “I don’t want to comment on that because I am trying to resolve this conflict, and that does not help,” Trump said when asked whether he believed Putin was more responsible for the conflict. On 16 June, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said his side was awaiting the arrival of US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner following the signing of a US-Iran memorandum scheduled for Friday (19/6). On 14 June, Ushakov said that in his conversation with Putin, Trump expressed his willingness to influence European partners and Ukraine regarding the peace process. In early June, Putin said the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine must be based on the understanding he discussed with Trump in Anchorage, Alaska. According to him, Ukraine is aware of that understanding. Source: Sputnik/RIA Novosti
