Trump Secretly Aids Iran Against Israel's 'Dirty Plan'
A secret diplomatic communication channel was reportedly activated by senior United States security officials to convey a ‘closed warning message’ to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The emergency intervention was forced upon Washington following intelligence detection of a plan by the Israeli military to assassinate the two core negotiators in order to sever the path to reconciliation.
According to a New York Times report republished by the Times of Israel on Sunday, the threat of physical liquidation against Tehran’s elite elements began to swirl intensely just weeks after a temporary peace deal was signed on 8 April. This crucial pact has so far succeeded in curbing the pace of armed confrontation between the US-Israel coalition and Iran.
‘Washington feared that if Israel really eliminated Araghchi and Ghalibaf, the entire ongoing negotiation process would collapse and trigger a new, far more massive armed conflict,’ a source stated. Ghalibaf himself reportedly narrowly escaped death after the aircraft he was travelling on was forced to make an emergency landing in Mashhad, northeastern Iran. The incident occurred while he was returning from Islamabad, Pakistan, following intensive dialogue with US Vice President JD Vance on 12 April.
Iranian security forces reportedly detected two Israeli fighter jets that had brazenly breached their airspace via an Iraqi route. Both were indicated to be attempting to intercept the parliament speaker’s plane. As a result of the emergency, Ghalibaf and the entire Iranian delegation were forced to evacuate and had to travel overland for eight hours to return to the capital, Tehran.
Given the extremely fatal risk to global stability, US authorities had to seek assistance from officials in several allied Middle Eastern countries to relay this secret warning message directly to Tehran. This preventive measure was taken because since the war erupted on 28 February, the Israeli military has been systematically targeting and killing senior Iranian leadership figures, including national security chief Ali Larijani and former foreign minister Kamal Kharazi, who were actually potential figures for negotiating with the US.
Earlier in March, while fighting was still intense, the Pakistani government carried out a diplomatic intervention by urging Washington to pressure Israel to remove Araghchi and Ghalibaf’s names from their assassination target list. Given the high security risk, the Iranian delegation had even requested international guarantees and a tight escort from Pakistani air force fighter jets upon landing in Islamabad to ensure their safety from Israeli intelligence pursuit. ‘The US asked Israel to stand down,’ a Pakistani official told Reuters, explaining that Islamabad had warned Washington that if the two figures were killed, there would be no one left in Tehran to talk to about ceasefire negotiations.
