Trump Says 'All Jews Are Sick of Netanyahu' in Explosive Phone Call
United States President Donald Trump has admitted he is weary of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s behaviour, going so far as to claim that all Jewish people are sick of him. The sharp criticism was revealed in a new book titled ‘Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump’, published by New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan on Tuesday, 23 June.
The book examines the first year of Trump’s second term, during which the US mediated a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that ended a two-year war in the Gaza Strip. It also delves into the relationship between Trump and Netanyahu. According to the book, Trump vented his deep frustration with Netanyahu during a tense phone call in September 2025, as ceasefire negotiations were underway. Trump reportedly felt Netanyahu was not responding adequately to American efforts to secure a deal.
‘I’m sick of your behaviour. I have done everything to protect you, and you’d better follow through on this,’ Trump said during the call, as quoted in the book. The conversation also included Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and his adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, both of whom are Jewish. ‘Everyone is sick of you, Bibi. All the Jews are sick of you. Even the two Jews on this call are sick of you,’ Trump reportedly told Netanyahu, using his nickname.
The Times of Israel reported that the call took place during the UN General Assembly in September 2025, as Trump was pushing a 20-point peace plan to end the Gaza war and rebuild the devastated Palestinian territory. CNN added that Trump also brought up a series of decisions he had made to support Israel during his first term, telling Netanyahu that he had provided significant support over the years. Journalist Maggie Haberman described the heated phone call as a ‘remarkable moment’, reflecting the level of tension and frustration within the US administration towards the Israeli government.
