Washington (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump has reportedly expressed anger, using harsh language towards the head of the Israeli authority, Benjamin Netanyahu, during their telephone conversation on Monday (1/6), according to Axios, citing several sources.

“You would certainly be in prison if it were not for me. Everyone hates you now. Everyone hates Israel because of this,” Trump reportedly said to Netanyahu, referring to the criminal legal proceedings against Netanyahu, one source stated.

According to Axios, Trump is aware of the increasing attacks by the Lebanon-based Hezbollah group against Israel in recent days, but he considers Tel Aviv’s response to be a disproportionate escalation.

Following the conversation, Trump announced that a ceasefire agreement had been reached between Lebanon and Israel. However, despite the official agreement, Israel continues to launch daily attacks against dozens of settlements in southern Lebanon and maintains control over fire in several border settlements.

In response, the Hezbollah group has also conducted military operations against Israeli forces.

Meanwhile, on Monday (1/6), the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that Tehran would cease negotiations with the United States and take action against Israel if it continues its hostile actions in Lebanon.

Several sources told Axios that Trump referred to Netanyahu as “crazy” and used profanity while berating Netanyahu.
