US President Donald Trump has assured that he will not withdraw his troops before a real agreement is reached with Iran. Trump confirmed that all US fleets and personnel will remain in their positions in a combat-ready state.

Citing detikNews, this statement was made by Trump on Wednesday (8/4) local time, as Washington entered a two-week ceasefire with Tehran.

“All Ships, Aircraft, and US Military Personnel, with Ammunition, Weaponry, and anything appropriate and necessary for the prosecution and destruction of an already very weak enemy, will remain in place in Iran and surrounding areas, until a REAL deal that is fully reached is complied with,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, as reported by AFP news agency on Thursday (9/4/2026).

Trump is confident that an agreement will be reached with Iran, describing a failure to agree as “very unlikely.” He threatened to launch larger attacks if the deal does not materialise.

“In the meantime, our great Military is preparing and resting, and actually looking forward to the next conquest. AMERICA IS BACK!” Trump wrote.

Meanwhile, in a Farsi-language demand release circulated by Iranian state media, the Islamic Republic insisted that Washington accept its uranium enrichment programme.

This was not included in Iran’s demands released through the UN, and Trump stated that the uranium enrichment issue would be “handled” in any agreement.

Ahead of planned negotiations in Pakistan, Trump said Iran “will not have nuclear weapons” and that the “Strait of Hormuz WILL BE OPEN & SAFE.”
