Trump Rages After Being Heckled by Two Muslim Members of Congress During Speech
Former US President Donald Trump has expressed outrage towards two Muslim members of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. Trump ranted on social media, stating that they should be sent “back to where they came from”. This occurred after the two representatives heckled Trump during his State of the Union address to Congress on Tuesday evening local time.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump called the female members of Congress “low-IQ” and said they “should be sent to a mental institution”. Trump described them as having “bulging, bloodshot eyes like crazy people, mentally ill and insane,” when they shouted during his speech.
“When people can behave like that, and know that they are Crooked and Corrupt Politicians, it is so bad for our Country, we must send them back to where they came from - immediately!” Trump wrote. “They are only hurting the United States, they can’t do anything to help it,” he added, as reported by NBC News, Thursday (26/2/2026).
Tlaib and Omar heckled Trump when the US President spoke before parliament on Tuesday evening local time. The two criticised Trump over the deaths of US citizens at the hands of ICE immigration officials.
“You have killed Americans!” Omar shouted.
Ilhan Omar is a Muslim woman born in Somalia. She has been a legal US citizen for almost 30 years. Meanwhile, Rashida Tlaib is a Palestinian-American born in Detroit, Michigan.
Neither Omar nor Tlaib are eligible for deportation.
Trump also included Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro in his criticism. This came after De Niro spoke critically about him and his administration at the “State of the Swamp” event hosted by the Democratic Party in Washington on Tuesday evening.
In his social media post, Trump said Omar and Tlaib “should get on a boat with crazy Robert De Niro, and other mentally ill and senile people that I am sure, have very low IQs, who have absolutely no idea what they are doing or saying - some of them are very CRIMINAL!”
