Trump plans to form 'AI Force' and appoint 'AI Czar'

Washington (ANTARA) - United States President Donald Trump stated on Saturday (19/9) that he is forming an ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) Force’ and will announce an ‘AI Czar’ in the near future.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said he would not remain idle or allow the ‘destruction or annihilation’ caused by AI to occur.

“We will not obstruct or hinder the development of this incredible industry. Instead, we will embrace it, help it, and oversee it as it evolves! However, we will also look for the BAD things, and we can do so very easily, with our existing Criminal and Civil Justice Systems,” said Trump.

Trump also described AI as the next Industrial Revolution or the next Internet, stating that AI has the potential to contribute up to 25 per cent of the US Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Trump did not provide specific details regarding the planned structure of the ‘AI Force’ or the specific role of the ‘AI Czar’.

The announcement comes amidst intensifying debate in the US regarding the rapid advancement of AI and its potential risks.
