Istanbul (ANTARA) - United States President Donald Trump has stated that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Iran to end the conflict is now over. “It’s a very interesting question for me. I think it’s over. I don’t want to deal with them (Iran) anymore. They are garbage,” Trump told reporters on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey. The Islamabad memorandum of understanding, which consists of 14 points of agreement between Iran and the United States, came into effect on 18 June after being signed electronically by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump. In the memorandum of understanding, Article 1 regulates a ceasefire and the cessation of military operations. Article 4 then addresses the Lebanon front and regulates the withdrawal of Israeli troops, whilst Article 5 regulates temporary shipping and security coordination in the Strait of Hormuz. Article 10 and Article 11 respectively regulate Iranian oil exports and access to frozen Iranian assets.
