Trump: MoU to End War with Iran is 'Over'

Istanbul (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump has stated that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Iran to end the conflict has ended.

“This is a very interesting question for me. I think it is over. I do not want to deal with them (Iran) anymore. They are trash,” Trump told reporters on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey.

The Islamabad MoU, consisting of 14 points of agreement between Iran and the United States, came into effect on 18 June after being electronically signed by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump.

In the MoU, Article 1 regulates the ceasefire and the cessation of military operations.

Furthermore, Article 4 addresses the Lebanese front and regulates the withdrawal of Israeli forces, while Article 5 regulates temporary navigation and security coordination in the Strait of Hormuz.

Articles 10 and 11 respectively regulate Iranian oil exports and access to frozen Iranian assets.
