Jakarta (ANTARA) - The mobile brand Trump Mobile has confirmed that its customer data, which includes names, email addresses, home addresses, mobile phone numbers, and order identities, has been leaked onto the internet.

As reported by TechCrunch on Friday (22/5) local time, Trump Mobile spokesperson Chris Walker stated that the company is currently investigating the incident and has not yet found evidence that personal content or customers’ financial information was included in the leak.

Walker emphasised that there were no breaches or hacks against Trump Mobile’s internal networks, systems, or infrastructure.

According to the company, the data leak is related to a third-party platform provider that supports part of Trump Mobile’s operations. However, the company did not disclose the identity of the vendor.

Trump Mobile’s admission follows previous reports suggesting that the company’s customer data could be accessed publicly via the internet.

Previously, two YouTube content creators who ordered Trump Mobile devices claimed they were informed by a cybersecurity researcher that their personal data was exposed online.

The two creators, Coffeezilla and penguinz0, stated they had attempted to warn Trump Mobile about the data leak after the cybersecurity researcher also tried to contact the company but received no response.

Walker stated that Trump Mobile is currently evaluating whether the company needs to send official notifications to customers regarding the personal data breach.
