Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the media company owned by United States President Donald Trump, has again drawn attention in cryptocurrency markets after moving 2,650 Bitcoin worth US$205 million to the Crypto.com digital asset exchange. The move comes amid weakening sentiment in crypto markets and mounting unrealised losses from the company’s digital asset holdings. Citing DailyCoin, on Friday 22 May 2026, the transfer marked the second large Bitcoin outflow by TMTG this year. The cash movement arrived while the company was still recording unrealised losses of about US$455 million, equivalent to around Rp 8.05 trillion. DailyCoin noted that the latest transfer occurred as Bitcoin prices faced uncertainty about direction and as investor optimism for crypto assets waned. The 2,650 Bitcoin transfer was recorded on Friday 22 May 2026, with a value estimated at US$205 million or Rp 3.62 trillion. The move constituted the second large Bitcoin outflow by TMTG in the last four months. The company remains under heavy pressure from the decline in value of its digital assets. Unrealised losses are estimated at US$455 million, around Rp 8.05 trillion. Unrealised losses are reductions in asset values recorded on the books and not yet realised through sale. Trump Media was previously known for an aggressive entry into the digital asset market, even developing a ‘Bitcoin treasury’ strategy when crypto prices were on an upward trend. Much of TMTG’s financial strain stems from purchases of Bitcoin worth US$3.5 billion (about Rp 61.89 trillion) in 2025 when prices were high.
