Trump lambasts Pope Leo for criticising US actions in Iran

New York - US President Donald Trump has condemned Pope Leo XIV for criticising US actions in Iran and stated that he does not need a pope who opposes his policies. Previously, Pope Leo XIV described US threats against the Iranian people as unacceptable. In early April, after US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth called for prayers for American soldiers, Pope Leo stated in a homily that the desire to dominate something is not in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ. He also stated that Pope Leo XIV would not be in the Vatican if Trump were not in the White House. Trump also asked the Pope to stop “licking” radical left groups and to focus solely on being a great Pope, not a politician.
