Trump Invites Iran to Join Board of Peace: 'Bad Things Will Happen' If They Refuse

US President Donald Trump has invited Iran to join the Board of Peace during the council’s inaugural meeting in the United States, warning that bad things would follow should Tehran refuse.

“Now is the time for Iran to join us on the path that will complete what we are doing,” Trump told leaders of the Board of Peace member states, as reported by Al Jazeera on Friday (20/2/2026).

Trump said it would be excellent if Iran were willing to join, though he was equally unfazed by the prospect of rejection.

“If they join us, that would be great, and if not, that would also be fine, but it will be a very different path,” Trump said.

Trump emphasised that Iran could not continue threatening global stability. “They cannot keep threatening the stability of the entire region,” he added.

He went on to urge Iran to reach a deal, warning that otherwise, bad things would befall the country.

“They have to make a deal. Bad things will happen if they don’t,” he said.
