Trump Hints US Could Strike Iran Again Soon: ‘Perhaps Tomorrow’
US President Donald Trump said he was seriously considering plans to strike Iran again, adding that an attack could come sooner rather than later.
“We’re thinking about doing it, perhaps tomorrow,” Trump told reporters when asked how seriously he was considering a possible strike, Anadolu Agency and Al Jazeera reported on Sunday (25 October 2026).
Trump made the remarks on Saturday (24 October), US time. He said nobody else would know if the US decided to attack Iran again.
“Do you really think I would tell you if I were going to do it?” he added.
Trump said Iran could still avoid further military action by reaching an agreement with the US. “They want to make a deal, but the problem is, will they abide by the deal?” he said.
Trump said his aim was to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons in the future. He said the previous US operation, which involved B-2 bombers, would not be enough to guarantee a lasting outcome.
“I have to make it permanent,” he said. “That’s the only reason I’m doing this.”
Trump also claimed that oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz had increased compared with levels before the war began, although he gave no specific figures.
He did not make a firm decision about the next step, saying the possible outcomes were military action or negotiations.
“Maybe I have to finish it off, or maybe they’ll agree to a deal,” Trump said. “But I’m not sure. Whatever happens, we win.”
