Trump Hints at Continued US Military Operation Against Iran

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIJING – US President Donald John Trump has hinted that military operations against Iran will continue. However, he did not provide further details.

“The United States has shown the world during the extraordinary 16 months of the Trump administration, which includes the stock market and 401K pension funds at an all-time high, military victories and growing relations in Venezuela, the destruction of the Iranian military (to be continued!),” Trump wrote from Beijing, China, via the Truth Social platform, Friday (15/5/2026).

On February 28, 2026, the US and Israel launched attacks on Iranian territory. Washington and Tehran then announced a ceasefire on April 7, but the United States imposed a blockade on Iranian ports, while Iran implemented special transit rules for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned against further attacks on his country and said that such actions would not be effective.
