Trump Evacuated from White House Event Due to Security Incident

Ankara (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were evacuated from the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington on Saturday (25/4) night local time after a security incident occurred. Trump and several officials seated at the main table were escorted out by Secret Service agents, while other guests remained in the event room. The President and Vice President JD Vance were later reported to be safe. Several witnesses claimed to have heard loud noises during the event. “We were sitting, then there was a sound of ‘bang, bang, bang’. Everyone immediately took cover under the tables because they didn’t know what was happening,” said White House correspondent Kellie Meyer, as quoted by media. The main table was quickly cleared as part of the security procedure. Meyer said she also saw several cabinet officials being escorted out of the location. There has been no official statement regarding the cause of the incident or the possibility of casualties. Host Weija Jiang then announced that the event would continue at a later time.
