Trump Disappointed After Sending Weapons for Iranian Demonstrators, But...
US President Donald Trump has admitted that his administration has sent a large quantity of weapons to arm Iranian demonstrators. However, the effort failed because the arms did not reach the hands of the protesters.
Trump made this statement to reporters during an Easter moment at the White House on Monday (6/4/2026).
Trump said the weapons were sent to help anti-government protesters fight against Tehran’s authorities. However, Trump admitted disappointment because the weapons did not reach the protesters.
“We have sent weapons, many weapons, those weapons should have been given to the people so they can fight these thugs,” Trump said in his statement, as reported by AFP and Al Arabiya, quoted by detikNews on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
“Do you know what happened? The people who received the weapons kept them,” he revealed.
“So, I am very disappointed with certain groups of people, and they will pay dearly for it,” Trump stated, without specifying which group he accused of taking the US-supplied weapons.
According to a Fox News reporter’s report on Sunday (5/4), Trump blamed Kurdish intermediaries for taking the weapons intended for Tehran’s rebels.
In one of his statements to reporters, as reported by Reuters, he mentioned that the US has ‘a lot of intercepts’ from Iranian civilians, which he claimed urge the US not to stop overthrowing the government from power. Trump made this claim without clear evidence.
“They (Iranian civilians) are willing to suffer for freedom,” Trump claimed.
Trump Threatens to Raze Iran Overnight
In a White House press conference, Trump stated that Iran could be destroyed overnight. This was said by Trump while warning Tehran to agree to a ceasefire no later than Tuesday night (7/4) or face broader US bombings.
“The entire country can be destroyed overnight. And that night might be tomorrow night,” Trump said during the press conference on Monday (6/4) local time.
“I hope I don’t have to do it,” the US President added.
Trump imposed a deadline on Tuesday night (7/4) US time for Iran to approve a ceasefire agreement or face massive attacks on power plants and other critical infrastructure. He demanded that Tehran relinquish nuclear weapons and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
