Trump Demands Iran's Unconditional Surrender
Washington — US President Donald Trump has demanded that Iran ‘surrender unconditionally’ as US-Israel strikes on Iran continue, triggering sustained retaliatory attacks from Tehran. ‘There will be no deal with Iran, unless Iran surrenders unconditionally! After that, and after the election of a new leader who is great and acceptable, we and our great and courageous allies will work tirelessly to save Iran from the brink of ruin,’ Trump said on his Truth Social account on Friday. Trump also said he would ensure that Iran’s economy becomes bigger, better, and stronger than ever. ‘Iran will have a very bright future,’ he said. Iran then launched a series of retaliatory strikes against American military bases, diplomatic facilities, and US military personnel in the region and in several cities in Israel. The intensity of the attacks has continued to rise. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Thursday (5/3) that Iranian authorities have miscalculated if Washington could not keep up the pace of their military operations. ‘Iran hoped we could not endure, but that would be a major miscalculation by the IRGC in Iran,’ Hegseth said, referring to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He added that the US is not short of resolve, emphasising that offensive and defensive stockpiles remain ample to continue the strikes for as long as needed until the US achieves its war aims.
