US President Donald Trump has stated that his administration will not attack Iran’s power plants as previously threatened. This step was taken after receiving a request from Tehran.

According to Al Jazeera on Friday (27/3/2026), Trump claimed that the US talks with the Islamic Republic are going very well. Consequently, the attack has been postponed for 10 days.

“As per the request of the Iranian Government, please allow this statement to confirm that I am delaying the destruction period of the Energy Power Plant for 10 days until Monday, 6 April 2026, at 20:00 Eastern Time,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

“Talks are ongoing and, regardless of the false contrary statements by Fake News Media and others, the talks are going very well,” he added.

Last Saturday, Trump had given Iran 48 hours to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz or face an attack on its power plants.

On Monday, he then extended that deadline by five days, stating that talks with Tehran were proceeding smoothly.
