Trump Considers Massive Military Strike Against Iran, Surpassing 'Epic Fury'

US President Donald Trump is reported to be considering launching a massive new strike against Iran. The scale of the latest US military operation against Iran is said to be capable of exceeding the strikes carried out during Operation Epic Fury earlier this year.

Trump made the remarks, as reported by Middle East Monitor on Friday (24/7/2026), in a recent interview with the US outlet Axios on Thursday (23/7).

In the interview, Trump said he was close to making a decision regarding a possible large-scale US strike. However, he stressed that no final decision had yet been made.

Two unnamed US officials separately told Axios that no new military orders had so far been issued.

“I am considering a massive attack. Bigger than before. I am close to making a decision. We are fully ready for it,” Trump said in the Axios interview.

Trump also said Israel could join the latest US operation “almost instantly” if requested.

Nevertheless, Trump stressed that the United States did not need assistance from any other country to carry out the latest military operation against Iran.

According to Axios, Trump again claimed that Iranian officials wanted to negotiate, but had not yet approved the latest proposal submitted through mediation efforts.

“They haven’t felt enough suffering yet,” Trump said, referring to Iran.

Citing two regional sources familiar with the mediation efforts, Axios reported that Iran’s leadership had not accepted the latest proposal.

“We are trying, but the Iranians are not being cooperative,” one source quoted by Axios said.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump warned that the United States would hold Iran accountable for Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea. The warning came after the Tehran-backed Houthis attacked two Saudi tanker ships in the strategic waters.

“Heavy military punishment will be inflicted upon Iran and, of course, the Houthi group itself,” he asserted.
