Trump Confirms US Joins Israel in Attack on Iran, Seeks to Overthrow Khamenei Regime

President Donald Trump stated that the combined US-Israeli military operation against Iran is intended to eliminate the real threat posed by the Iranian regime, which he described as endangering the American people.

“Recently, the US military launched a major military operation in Iran. Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating the threat from the Iranian regime,” Trump said.

Iran’s state-owned news channel IRINN confirmed the Israeli attacks on Saturday, 28 February 2026, in Tehran. Tel Aviv described the military operation as a preliminary strike against Iran.

The television station experienced audio disruptions around 06:30 GMT before resuming broadcasts, displaying rolling text reporting smoke plumes and explosion sounds in several parts of the capital.

Iran is reportedly preparing a retaliatory response following the attacks. Iran has also closed its airspace. “With a response that will be very devastating,” an Iranian official told Reuters.

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s national security commission, issued a warning to the US and Israel on social media: “We have already warned you!”

“Now you have started a path whose end is no longer within your control,” he added.
