Trump confident conflict with Iran will end after US midterms

Washington (ANTARA) - The ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran will end shortly after the upcoming US Congressional midterm elections, said US President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

“Oh, I think this war will end soon after the election because they can no longer sustain it any longer,” Trump told reporters before departing for Dallas, Texas.

The US Congressional midterm elections are scheduled to be held in November. According to analysts, the Republican Party risks losing control of the House of Representatives to the Democratic Party.

Experts have linked the potential loss of the majority in Congress to declining approval ratings for the Trump administration amidst the military campaign against Iran, as well as rising domestic prices.

Trump has previously acknowledged the possibility of the Republican Party losing control of the House and anticipates that the Democratic Party will attempt to impeach him.
