Citing AFP based on The Wall Street Journal, the US Navy guided-missile destroyers crossed the strait without any reported issues. “We are now beginning the process of clearing the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump said on his social media platform, describing it as ‘aid’ to countries like China, Japan, and France that “lack the courage or willingness to do this job themselves.” He asserted that Iran has “LOST BIG!” in this conflict, although he acknowledged that Iran’s sea mines in the strategic strait—which carries one-fifth of the world’s crude oil supply—remain a threat. “The only thing they have is the threat that a ship might ‘hit’ one of their sea mines,” Trump wrote. Iran Denies Citing Iranintl, Iranian military officials in an interview with Iranian state TV denied the presence of US ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
