Trump Claims Ships Allowed to Cross Strait of Hormuz, Iran: False Statement!
US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has allowed several ships to cross the Strait of Hormuz. However, this statement by Trump has been refuted by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iran has even accused Trump of lying.
“This morning, following the false statement from the corrupt US President claiming that the Strait of Hormuz is open, three container ships from various countries moved towards the designated corridor for permitted shipping traffic but were turned back after warnings from the IRGC Navy,” the IRGC stated in a social media post, quoted from detikNews, Friday (27/3/2026).
The IRGC Navy emphasised that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. Iran stated that US ships or those of its allies attempting to pass through those waters will face firm action.
“The Strait of Hormuz is closed and any traffic passing through it will face a harsh response,” the IRGC said.
“Any ship travel ‘to and from’ ports owned by allies and supporters of the Zionist-American enemy, to any destination and through any corridor, is prohibited,” it added.
Previously, Trump claimed that Iran had allowed 10 oil tankers to cross the Strait of Hormuz as a signal of good intent in negotiations. Trump described it as a ‘gift’ from Iran. This was stated by Trump during a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday (26/3).
“They said, to show you that we are real and solid and we are there, we will give you eight oil ships, eight ships, eight big ships full of oil,” Trump said.
“I think they are right and the ships are real, and I think those ships are flying the Pakistani flag… It turns out the number is 10 ships,” Trump added.
