Trump claims Mojtaba Khamenei still alive but seriously wounded

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is still alive, but has suffered serious injuries to the left side of his body.

“He has very serious injuries. The left side of his body, his arm, his leg, everything,” Trump told political commentator Glenn Beck.

Trump said that if Khamenei had actually died, the Iranian government was “putting on a fairly convincing show” by claiming they still consult with him regularly.

Trump also predicted that the war with Iran would end in the fairly near future, while again claiming that the US had succeeded in reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Trump, as many as 10 million barrels of oil passed through the strategic route on Tuesday, while 22 ships managed to pass safely throughout the night.

“We achieved victory in Venezuela, and we will achieve a great victory here in the very near future,” he said.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on 9 August to discuss the latest economic, military and defence developments in Iran.

The meeting marked Mojtaba’s first public and media appearance after five months of remaining behind the scenes.

“The Leader of the Islamic Revolution met and spoke with the President about economic and military issues,” read a statement on the Iranian leader’s Telegram channel.
