Washington (ANTARA) - United States President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran will buy US agricultural products and that negotiations are making progress. “They don’t make money, so we’re going to take some of their money and buy them food. They need food. They need corn, wheat, and soybeans, and we’re going to make sure that supply is provided exclusively by American farmers,” Trump said in an interview with CNBC. However, Abdolnaser Hemmati, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, told the Iranian news agency Tasnim that there is no obligation to purchase agricultural products from the US. In the interview, Trump said negotiations with Iran are progressing, claiming he believes Tehran has agreed to almost everything the US needs. The US President defended his decision to wage war against Iran. Trump added that he considers the war’s duration of about four months to be relatively short compared to the long-term conflicts the US has previously been involved in.
