Trump Claims BoP Has Reached Disarmament Agreement in Gaza

US President Donald Trump has announced that the Board of Peace (BoP) has reached an agreement for the disarmament of Hamas in Gaza. Trump claimed the agreement is a significant step towards peace.

“Today, the Board of Peace has reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step towards lasting peace and security,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The disarmament is said to encompass both Hamas and other armed factions in Gaza. Trump stated that the disarmament will be carried out in stages. Once the process is complete, Trump remarked that Israeli forces will withdraw from the Gaza Strip.

“After the disarmament is complete, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilisation Force will work alongside the new Palestinian police forces to take over responsibility for Gaza,” he added.

Meanwhile, senior Hamas officials have confirmed that they have reached an agreement to end the conflict with Israel. This statement followed Donald Trump’s announcement that Hamas is prepared to disarm.

Two officials from the Palestinian Islamic movement, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP that an agreement has indeed been reached.
