Istanbul (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump stated on Saturday (1/8) that he has cancelled plans for a military attack against Iran after Tehran and other Middle Eastern nations requested time to finalise a framework for a peace agreement. Trump also noted that Israel has joined this commitment.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump claimed that all parties have agreed to the parameters of a potential deal, which includes the immediate, full, and total reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the termination of Iran’s nuclear threats. Trump stated that he agreed to cancel the attack “for the sake of the future interests of the world and also for the successful and prosperous survival of Iran.”

However, he emphasised that the decision depends on the ability of all parties to “immediately reach an agreement.”

“The US is in a state of readiness and alert to launch an attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a level of military strength, combat power, and capability unseen since World War II,” Trump wrote. He also stated that Israel has agreed to the commitment to delay the attack. “All parties, work immediately and finalise this,” Trump added.
