Trump Cancels Attack on Iran, Signals Deal Will Be Reached
United States President Donald Trump has cancelled an attack on Iran, signalling the possibility of a deal with Tehran being reached. “Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been elevated to the highest levels of Iranian leadership and approved, I have… cancelled the attack and bombing scheduled against Iran tonight,” Trump said on his Truth Social network, as reported by AFP on Friday (12/6/2026). Trump stated that “discussions and final points have, both in concept and in detail, been approved by all parties involved,” including the United States and Israel, which jointly launched a war with Iran in February. “The time and place of the signing will be announced soon,” Trump said, adding that the US naval blockade against Iran would remain in place. There was no immediate reaction from Iran.
