Trump: Blockade in the Strait of Hormuz Will Begin Soon
Moscow (ANTARA) - United States President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that his administration will soon begin a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz to prevent Iran from engaging in what he called “extortion”. “The blockade will begin soon. Other countries will be involved in this blockade,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform. Trump added that the US Navy will blockade all ships attempting to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz until all parties are permitted to do so. “I have also instructed our Navy to search and intercept every ship in international waters that has paid tribute to Iran. No party paying illegal entry fees will receive safe passage in the high seas,” he said. Furthermore, Trump accused Iran of continuing to pursue its nuclear ambitions following peace negotiations in Islamabad. “The meeting went well, most points were agreed upon; but the only truly important point, nuclear, was not achieved,” Trump stated. He said the Iranian side still “wants nuclear”.
