Trump approves tariff adjustments for steel, aluminium, and copper
Istanbul (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation regarding the adjustment of import tariffs on steel, aluminium, and copper, according to a statement released by the White House on Monday (1/6).
“The proclamation adjusts tariffs for agricultural equipment—such as combine harvesters and other harvesting tools, as well as several other types of equipment—from 25 per cent to 15 per cent,” the statement read.
Furthermore, the proclamation also expands the category of industrial equipment, which is currently subject to a 15 per cent tariff, by including mobile industrial equipment, such as bulldozers and forklifts, when imported from trade agreement partner countries entitled to such treatment.
According to the White House, these tariff changes are temporary and will remain in effect until 31 December 2027, in order to encourage short-term investment that can rebuild the United States’ national industrial base.
