US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the country has reached a trade deal with Indonesia. The president did not provide any details about the alleged agreement.

"Fantastic deal for all parties, just reached with Indonesia. I negotiated directly with the country's highly respected president. DETAILS TO FOLLOW!!!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

Last week, he threatened to impose tariffs of 32 per cent on the Southeast Asian country from 1 August if they did not reach a trade deal with the United States. He sent similar letters to 23 other countries, with threats of tariff rates ranging from 20 to 50 per cent if no agreement was brought to the table.

Since Trump launched his tariff policy, the United States has reached trade deals of varying scope with three other countries: China, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
