Trump Angry with Netanyahu: Everyone Hates You, You Should Be in Prison
Two United States officials and one source familiar with the conversation have revealed that US President Donald Trump launched harsh criticism at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This occurred during a telephone conversation described as the worst in the history of their relationship.
The trigger for the tension was Israel’s threat to launch attacks on the Lebanese capital, Beirut. According to sources cited by Axios, Trump used an extremely sharp tone. He reportedly referred to Netanyahu as a “madman” and accused him of being ungrateful, referencing the support Trump previously provided to the Israeli leader during his alleged corruption cases.
Trump also warned that an attack on Beirut would further deepen Israel’s isolation in the eyes of the world. He assessed that Netanyahu has caused Israel’s international image to continue deteriorating. During the conversation, Trump reportedly said to Netanyahu, “Right now everyone hates you, and everyone is also starting to hate Israel because of this. What exactly are you doing?”
Sources added that Trump displayed extraordinary anger at a time when Iran is threatening to halt negotiations with Washington due to Israel’s military operations in Lebanon.
