Trump and Xi have a 'good understanding' on the issues of Taiwan and Iran
Moscow (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump has said that he has reached a good understanding with Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding the issues of Taiwan and Iran.
“So, President Xi and I have talked a lot about Taiwan. He thinks they shouldn’t be involved in what they’re doing. I mean, he (Xi Jinping) is very much against what they’re doing. We talked about Taiwan. We talked a lot about Iran; and I think, we have a very good understanding about both,” Trump told reporters on Friday.
Trump also does not see any risk of a dispute with China regarding the issue of Taiwan that could escalate into a full-scale conflict.
“Regarding Taiwan, he (Xi Jinping) doesn’t want to see an independence struggle because that would be a very strong confrontation; and I listened to him,” said Trump.
