Trump and Khalid bin Salman Discuss Iran Conflict Amid Rising Tensions

Washington (ANTARA) — US President Donald Trump met Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman on Wednesday (29/7) to discuss the military conflict with Iran, according to a report by Axios.

The Trump administration hosted senior defence and intelligence officials from both Israel and Saudi Arabia in Washington this week for consultations on Iran. The meetings took place as the White House considers launching military strikes.

“President Trump met with Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman,” a US official said. “The Saudi Defence Minister conveyed a message from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) to Trump regarding the war with Iran and the escalation of tensions in the region,” Axios journalist Barak Ravid wrote on the X platform.

Previously, Ravid reported that Prince Khalid and US Vice President J.D. Vance discussed the escalation of tensions in the Middle East following the latest strikes launched by joint US and Saudi forces against Iraq.

Earlier, on Tuesday (28/7), the US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the United States and Saudi Arabia had carried out precision strikes in Iraq targeting three individuals suspected of being “terrorists” linked to Iran.
