Trump Advisers Urge Declaration of Victory over Iran

American presidential advisers to Donald Trump have reportedly been trying to persuade him to declare victory over Iran as soon as possible. According to CNN, Trump hopes that early progress in military operations against Iran could boost public support. However, his aides urged him to push ahead with the operation and declare victory as soon as possible. His advisers fear that prolonged military action against Iran could pose political risks for the US leader. The war has even triggered splits within the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement led by Trump, the report said. On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched a series of strikes on several targets in Iran, including in Tehran, with reports of damage and civilian casualties. Iran’s state television confirmed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the attack. Iran then launched retaliatory ballistic missile strikes against Israel and US military facilities in the Middle East.
